Discover The Phoenix Region Magazine #15-3 (May 2025 - June 2025)

Dear Discover The Phoenix Region Magazine readers, I’m thrilled to share that our May/June issue, hitting subscribers’ mailboxes and bookshelves on May 1st, features the remarkable Tyler Carson, “Fiddler on the Rock,” as our cover star! This Sedona-based violinist, a one-man musical powerhouse, has enchanted audiences globally with his fusion of classical, folk, and rock, and we’re honored to celebrate his extraordinary talent and inspiring story in our latest edition. Tyler Carson’s journey is one of passion, perseverance, and innovation. Classically trained from age five, Carson has performed alongside legends like The Chieftains and opened for Brooks & Dunn. His “Living Music” genre, crafted with looping pedals and a rare 19th-century Stroh violin, creates a multi-layered soundscape, drawing comparisons to “Ed Sheeran meets Lindsey Stirling”. In 2024, Carson’s artistry and resilience earned him a prestigious ten-minute feature on CBS Mornings, where host Natalie Morales visited Sedona to interview him and capture his performance against the iconic red rock landscape. Aired on November 29, 2024, with a follow-up appearance for his Celtic Dreams concert in March 2025, the segment spotlighted his triumph over spasmodic dysphonia, a condition that silenced his voice in his teens. Through alternative healing, Carson rediscovered his “true voice” via his violin, a story beautifully captured in the award-winning documentary Living Music. This film, which won Best Short Documentary at the 2023 Sedona International Film Festival, chronicles his path to musical and personal healing. Our May/June issue explores Tyler’s evolution, from his early days with “The Carson Kids” duo to his transformative experiences in India and his role as a Sedona cultural gem. We delve into how his music fosters emotional connection, with fans describing his shows as “a balm for the heart and soul.” Whether you’re a music lover, a Sedona explorer, or curious about this vibrant artist, this issue offers an in-depth look at Carson’s impact on the Phoenix region’s cultural landscape. Don’t miss this captivating issue! Subscribers, watch for your copy, and others can find it on bookshelves starting May 1st.
